The Snow Queen 2000

These are the final sketches for the set of The Snow Queen, which I painted when I was in collage for the high school
(all designs finalised by the head of art)
Looking back at them now after 14years they look, well a little shit. As well as it gives me loads of ideas of how they could be improved.

We used 9 flats to create the back drop of this stage.
Five on the main stage to create the Snow Queen's palace, which is only reviled in Act II.
Two flats creating Grandma's house on the Down Stage Right.
Two on stage left, one mid-stage right and one down stage right. this was to create a junk yard for the Old troll.
Bin Bags full of rubbish paper form around the school was was to create the look of a junk yard, then in Act II they are covered in white sheets to represent piles of snow.

Indian Princess Puppet

My Indian Princess Puppet was a present which a friend brought my back from New York, I think she came from Maces.
So when I got my brief for my A Level exam and it was "Children's Toys" the first thing I went and grabbed to draw  was her. As well as my brothers  Carpenters puppet.
I wish I had a pitcher of my finale piece as her and a Lego man took many place on the painting.
I created it with a broken mirror effect with a toy image in each segment and the Lego man, whom was a little sinister  looking was in the main background, as though he was braking out of the mirror.

iron maiden #3

If I remember correctly this was done in pencil and then with a fountain and blue ink.
This is before I discovered Inks and fine line pens.
